Why I Chose Reliability Over a Lower Quote
As a technician working in a network design service company, I frequently handle chip decryption projects and collaborate with different suppliers. Over time, I’ve learned a simple truth: the lowest price doesn’t always lead to the best outcome.
At one point, my management team suggested switching to another supplier because their quotation was slightly lower. However, based on my previous experience, I strongly recommended continuing with DALIAN JY ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

Challenge 1: Program Couldn’t Be Opened

- I didn’t know which software to use to open the file
- My programmer was SuperPro5000U, while the provided solution supported SuperPro6100 and ALTERA tools
Initially, I couldn’t run the program at all.

- Followed the instructions step by step
Eventually, I managed to open the program successfully.


This step already showed something important: the supplier provided a working solution, but also stayed available while I figured out compatibility on my side.
Challenge 2: JTAG Wiring Confusion
The next problem was more complicated — wiring.
My SuperPro5000U JTAG interface had 7 wires (1–7), but:
- I didn’t know how to map them
- There was no clear instruction available
Amy initially suggested using a multimeter to test connections:
- Set to buzzer mode
- Probe IC pins (144 pins total)
- Match each wire manually
This approach was technically correct—but extremely time-consuming.
After further discussion, Amy proposed two simplified wiring methods:
Option 1
- TCK → 5
- TDI → 7
- TMS → G
- TDO → 6
Option 2
- TCK → 5
- TDI → 7
- TMS → 6
- TDO → G
Even then, I still couldn’t get it working.
So I shared my programmer’s Chinese manual with her. After carefully comparing:
- Chip documentation
- Programmer manual
She identified the real issue: my wiring mistake
After correcting the connection, the setup worked.


This part really stood out — instead of just giving general guidance, they worked through my exact setup step-by-step until the problem was solved.

Challenge 3: Program Copied, But Chip Didn’t Work
After successfully running the program, another issue appeared:
- The system showed the program was copied successfully
- But the new chip didn’t function properly
At this stage, there were multiple possible causes:
- The original chip might already be faulty
- Soldering issues on the board
- Other component interference
- Or incomplete programming
In chip decryption projects, this kind of uncertainty is very common.
How We Judged the Result
A working chip should:
- Light up once when powered
- Turn off when disconnected
Failure symptoms included:
- Lighting up without connection
- Abnormal flashing when reconnecting


Even though the final behavior required further verification, the process itself helped eliminate multiple possible issues.
