In a recent project, our team developed a high-precision light sensor PCB for a client in the United States. While the PCB design itself wasn’t overly complex, the project required meticulous care and precision during assembly due to the nature of the components involved. As a PCB manufacturer dedicated to delivering custom, high-quality PCBA services, we were committed to meeting the client’s requirements from prototyping to final assembly.

PCB Assembly Features
To meet the client’s high-quality expectations, we followed strict assembly standards:
- Component Sourcing: 100% original brand components to ensure performance and reliability
- Smallest Component Size: 0603 (more than 5 types used)
- Tallest Component Height: 35mm connector
- BGA: Not included
- External Components: Yes
- Component Angle Tolerance: No special angles required
- Replacement Parts: No equivalent components allowed
- LED/IC Chips: Not included
- Photosensitive Components: Special care taken during brushing process to avoid contact
Assembly Challenges and Special Processes
One of the biggest challenges of this project involved the sensitive photosensor components. These sensors are highly delicate and positioned closely on the front side of the board. During assembly, brushing the PCB posed a risk of damaging these sensors.
To mitigate this, we implemented the following:
- Tilted the entire panel 45 degrees during brushing to reduce direct pressure
- Ensured cleaning solvents avoided sensor contact
These adjustments helped us maintain the integrity of the sensitive components and ensure proper functionality post-assembly.

Product Function and Use Case
This light sensor board is designed to detect light intensity. When light reaches a certain brightness, the photosensitive sensors send a signal through customized connectors for further action. The circuit structure is relatively simple, focusing on light detection and signal transmission.
- Primary Function: Light sensing and triggering signal output
- Key Components: Light-sensitive sensors and custom signal connectors
Market Position and Application
This product is tailored specifically for training and educational purposes in the U.S. While its market volume is relatively small due to its niche application, the product is consistent, reliable, and purpose-built for specialized usage.
- Application: Training and demonstration equipment
- Market Demand: Low volume, but stable orders
- Customization Level: High
Our PCB Quality Assurance
To ensure optimal quality, we follow a strict ISO 9001 quality management system. For products involving more complex elements like BGA pads, we offer X-ray inspection services to guarantee soldering integrity. In this project, although no BGA was required, we applied the same rigorous standards.
